MOU Signing Ceremony with Punjab Food Authority

Punjab Food Authority has been established under the "Punjab Food Authority Act 2011" to ensure availability of safe and wholesome food for human consumption. The basic purpose is to lay out standards for food articles and to regulate their manufacturing, storage, distribution, sale and import. Guidelines in relation to any aspect of food including food business, food labeling, food additive, and specify appropriate enforcement systems, accreditation of food laboratories, scientific advice and technical support to the Government in matters related to food, registration, licensing and certification are areas under focus. Being a leading public university, Government College University Faisalabad always intends to take an initiative for strong collaboration to facilitate consumers and stakeholders. In this scenario, Department of Food Science, Nutrition & Home Economics played a pivotal role to establish a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) between Government College University, Faisalabad and Punjab Food Authority to establish a system of network of food operators and consumers to facilitate food safety and quality control. A MOU signing Ceremony between Government College University Faisalabad and Punjab Food Authority will be organized on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 4:00 pm in Seminar Hall, Dr. Zakir Hussain Block, GCU Faisalabad.
