GCUF Earns Global Recognition with British Councilโ€™s Going Global Partnerships Award 2025

Empowering Women in STEM with PIE Project and Partnership Excellence Government College University Faisalabad is proud to celebrate its significant contribution to the Partnership in Equality (PIE) for UK-Pakistan Women in Robotics & AI project, which has been honored with the British Council’s inaugural Going Global Partnerships Awards 2025.

๐๐ซ๐จ๐Ÿ. ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐‘๐š๐ฎ๐Ÿ-๐ข-๐€๐ณ๐š๐ฆ, Vice Chancellor Government College University Faisalabad participated in the Ceremony as Guest of Honor at National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST). ๐๐ซ๐จ๐Ÿ. ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐’๐จ๐Ÿ๐ข๐š ๐€๐ง๐ฐ๐š๐ซ Dean Faculty of Economic and Management sciences, serving as GCUF’s Focal Person for the PIE project, played a pivotal role in bringing this initiative.

At this occasion Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, Vice Chancellor of GCUF, expressed pride in the achievement and thanked all stakeholders for their contributions. He noted that the global recognition reflects the power of institutional collaboration in empowering women in STEM.

He particularly appreciated Prof. Dr. Sofia Anwar for her dedicated leadership as PIE Project Focal Person at GCUF, highlighting her role in building international partnerships and sustainable mentorship frameworks that created transformative opportunities for young women in robotics and AI.

The Vice Chancellor also congratulated ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐’๐ก๐š๐๐š๐ง ๐Š๐ก๐š๐ง ๐Š๐ก๐š๐ญ๐ญ๐š๐ค of Cardiff Metropolitan University, praising his visionary leadership and commitment to inclusive STEM education.

Selected as one of only five global winners from 105 nominations worldwide, this achievement underscores GCUF’s commitment to advancing gender equality and excellence in STEM education.

The award was formally presented at the Going Global Partnerships Award Ceremony in London on October 28, 2025, celebrating projects that contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality and in a ceremony in NUST Auditorium on 20 Jan 2026.
