Breast Cancer Awareness Day, Awareness Seminar at Government College University Faisalabad

Breast cancer is not an incurable disease; with timely diagnosis, treatment, and attention, it can be defeated. Positive societal attitudes play a central role in public health. These views were expressed by the Vice Chancellor of Government College University Faisalabad, Professor Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, while addressing the participants of an awareness seminar on breast cancer. He further stated that early screening for breast cancer could save thousands of lives, and detecting the disease in its early stages proves to be quite effective in its treatment and control.
The seminar was attended by Vice Chancellor of Faisalabad Medical University, Professor Dr. Zafar Ali Choudhry, Dean In-Charge Professor Dr. Abid Rasheed, along with seminar organizers Dr. Sabira Sultana, Dr. Amina Eram, members of the medical faculty, department chairpersons, and students.
On this occasion, Professor Dr. Zafar Ali Choudhry, while delivering a lecture, said that the lack of awareness among women about breast cancer is a major reason for its spread. He stated that by raising more awareness about prevention in society, this disease can be controlled. Dr. Abid Rasheed presented a detailed briefing about the steps taken by GC University Faisalabad regarding breast cancer prevention and the awareness session.
The speakers mentioned that October is observed worldwide as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In our society, many women fall victim to this deadly disease simply because they lack proper knowledge about its timely diagnosis and treatment.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Rauf-i-Azam praised the efforts of the Faculty of Medical Sciences and seminar organizers Dr. Sabira Sultana and Dr. Amina Eram.
The participants of the seminar shed detailed light on various aspects related to the symptoms, diagnostic procedures, treatment, and patient care and management of breast cancer.
