Career Fair Held at Government College University Faisalabad

The Directorate of Career Counseling and Alumni Affairs, Government College University Faisalabad organized a Career Fair aimed at connecting students with leading organizations and providing career development guidance. The event brought together representatives from diverse sectors, including food, banking, pharmaceuticals, education consultancy, and industry, to guide students on employment opportunities, internships, and professional growth.

Vice Chancellor GCUF Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam inaugurated the fair along with a delegation from the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI). The FCCI delegation was led by Mr. Farooq Yousaf Sheikh, President FCCI, accompanied by Mr. Naveed Akram Sheikh, Senior Vice President; Mr. Muhammad Ayub, General Secretary; and Dr. Ghulam Mehboob Subhani.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam emphasized the importance of strong linkages between academia and industry to ensure that graduates are equipped with relevant skills and market-oriented knowledge. He stated that collaboration with the private sector enables universities to prepare students for real-world challenges and enhances their employability. “The partnership between universities and industries is essential to bridge the gap between theoretical education and practical application,” he said.

President FCCI Farooq Yousaf Sheikh appreciated GCUF’s efforts in organizing the event and reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to supporting educational institutions in preparing a workforce that meets modern industrial demands. He said that regular collaboration between the academic and business communities is vital for economic growth and innovation.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam commended the Director Career Counseling and Alumni Affairs Prof Dr Abdul Qadir Mushtaq for successfully organizing a meaningful and interactive platform that fosters professional readiness among students.

The fair attracted participation from numerous national and multinational companies, recruitment agencies, and training organizations. Representatives of participating firms shared insights into job-seeking strategies, human resource requirements, and skill development opportunities. A large number of students from various departments attended the event, interacting with recruiters and company representatives. They appreciated the initiative for providing valuable exposure to professional environments and enhancing their understanding of workplace expectations.
