Three-Minute Thesis Competition and Thesis Display Held at GCUF, IT Department

The Department of Information Technology at Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) organized a Three-Minute Thesis Competition and Thesis Display, showcasing diverse research contributions by students.

Vice Chancellor GCUF Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam visited the displays along with Dean Faculty of Physical Sciences Prof. Dr. Kaleem Khan Khosa and Chairperson Department of IT Prof. Dr. Maryam Rehman.

The exhibition featured innovative projects, including sentiment analysis using multi-modalities, multi-agent based diagnosis systems, automatic speech recognition, ensemble-based food waste classification, liver tumor detection, dental caries classification, Mpox classification, energy expenditure analysis, and heart disease detection.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam commended the students’ innovative research and emphasized the importance of advancing applied technologies to address real-world challenges. He noted that such research initiatives not only enhance academic excellence but also strengthen Pakistan’s capacity in science, technology, and innovation.

The Vice Chancellor also inaugurated the newly established Computer Lab in the Department of Information Technology, marking another step towards strengthening digital learning and research facilities at GCUF.
