GCUF Faculty Induction Programme Focuses on Leadership, Pedagogy and Assessment

The third day of the New Faculty Induction & Academic Practice Programme, organized by the Directorate of Training & Development, Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF), focused on academic leadership, modern pedagogy and quality enhancement.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf I. Azam led an interactive session on effective communication skills for faculty members aspiring to leadership and decision-making roles. Using entropy as an analogy, he emphasized that systems naturally tend towards disorder unless guided by focused, planned and strategic efforts, a principle equally relevant to institutional leadership and professional growth.

Prof. Dr. Shaista Irshad Khan, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Rasul, discussed modern pedagogical approaches and student-centred teaching, highlighting strategies to make learning more engaging, participatory and outcome-oriented.

Director QEC Prof. Dr. Asim Mansha conducted the concluding session, highlighting the role of assessment in improving learning outcomes and enhancing the overall quality of education.

The sessions featured active participation and discussions by newly inducted faculty members, making the programme interactive, reflective and practice-oriented.
