Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) has taken an important step towards promoting sustainable and affordable mobility by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saint Solis Motors (Pvt.) Ltd. to facilitate eligible faculty, staff and students in acquiring electric motorcycles.

Under the agreement, GCUF faculty and staff will be able to acquire electric motorcycles through instalment plans of up to 24 months at zero per cent markup, subject to individual eligibility, applicable models and order schedules. Approved full-cash purchases will also be eligible for a 10pc institutional discount.

Muhammad Adeel Ashraf, Founder & Business Relations, Saint Solis Motors, visited the campus along with Chinese delegation and briefed the university administration on the e-bike policy, including available models, interest-free instalment options, and after-sales support for the university community under the agreement.

The initiative, covering both GCUF campuses in Faisalabad, will include awareness activities, enrolment and supervised test rides. Saint Solis Motors will also provide warranty, servicing and after-sales support.

Speaking on the occasion, GCUF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam said universities had a responsibility not only to provide quality education and promote research but also to introduce modern and sustainable facilities for their students and employees.

Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam said electric motorcycles were environmentally friendly and their easy operation could also make them a convenient mobility option for female students and women faculty members.

Directorate of Students Affairs Director Prof Dr Nadeem Sohail played a key role in facilitating the initiative for the university’s students and faculty. He said the programme would provide the university community with a modern, affordable and environmentally responsible means of transportation.
