GCUF and UCSI University, Malaysia Explore Strategic Academic Collaboration

Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) held a productive Pre-MoU online meeting with UCSI University, Malaysia, on 8 September 2026 to explore opportunities for long-term academic, research, and institutional collaboration.

The meeting was led by Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, Vice Chancellor, GCUF, while Prof. Dr. Muhammad Riaz, Director International Linkages, moderated the session. Dr. Zia Ashraf, Assistant Professor, College of Allied Health Professionals, delivered the institutional presentation on behalf of GCUF, highlighting the University’s academic profile, research strengths, international engagement, and potential areas for collaboration.

The GCUF delegation also included Dr. Muhammad Tahir ul Qamar, Deputy Director International Linkages; Prof. Dr Farhat Jabeen, Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences; Prof. Dr. Abdul Rauf Bhatti, Dean, Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hidayat Rasool, Director, Institute of Microbiology; and, Prof. Dr. Aamer Mehmood, Director Training & Development.

During the meeting, representatives of GCUF and UCSI University, Malaysia, discussed potential collaboration in areas including faculty and student exchange, joint research and publications, joint/dual-degree programmes, academic and scientific activities, capacity building, and other mutually beneficial initiatives. The discussion also explored possibilities for broader institutional cooperation and further refinement of the proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The meeting served as an important step toward strengthening GCUF’s international academic linkages and developing a meaningful partnership with UCSI University. Further discussions are expected during the GCUF delegation’s visit to Malaysia later this month.
