GCUF Holds 8th IQC Meeting to Strengthen Outcome-Based Education

The 8th meeting of the Institutional Quality Circle (IQC) of Government College University Faisalabad was held at New Campus. The meeting was chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam along with by all Deans, the Controller of Examinations, Chairpersons of academic departments and other relevant officials. Various matters concerning academic quality enhancement, outcome-based education and preparedness for the Fall Semester 2026-27 were discussed in detail.
A comprehensive presentation was given on the adoption of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) across disciplines in the natural and social sciences that do not fall under the jurisdiction of professional councils.
The meeting also approved guidelines regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in similarity reports for graduate students. The revised evaluation proforma of the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) was also discussed as part of efforts to further improve academic assessment and quality assurance mechanisms at the university.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam highlighted the importance of Outcome-Based Education and stressed that its implementation should be undertaken in its true spirit rather than as a merely procedural requirement. He emphasized that clearly defined learning outcomes, effective teaching methodologies and appropriate assessment mechanisms are essential for producing graduates equipped with relevant knowledge, skills and competencies.
