The 79th meeting of the Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB) was held at the Allama Iqbal Library, New Campus, Government College University Faisalabad. The meeting was chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, and was attended by the Pro Vice Chancellor, along with deans of various faculties, chairpersons, directors, and other distinguished members.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Vice Chancellor emphasized the need to promote research activities at the university and improve its global ranking. He urged faculty members and staff to perform their duties with greater dedication and commitment.

Director Advanced Studies, Professor Dr. Matloob Ahmad, provided a detailed briefing on the meeting agenda and key points, while Registrar Ghulam Ghaus performed the administrative duties as Secretary of the meeting.

During the meeting, the minutes of the 78th meeting of the Board (held on March 26, 2026) were reviewed and unanimously approved.

Reports regarding the evaluation of PhD scholars’ research theses were presented. In light of the opinions of external examiners, the Board approved several theses with minor revisions and granted approval for the award of PhD degrees.

Furthermore, the proceedings of various Faculty Board meetings were also approved. In addition, several matters related to PhD scholars were discussed, including enrollment in additional semesters, extension in the submission deadline of revised theses, and other academic issues, all of which were decided in accordance with rules and regulations.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Vice Chancellor reaffirmed the commitment to ensuring quality research, transparency, and strict adherence to academic regulations at the university, in order to further enhance research standards.
