GCUF holds workshop on biosafety and laboratory best practices

Government College University Faisalabad organised a training workshop on biosafety, biosecurity, donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPEs), and safe laboratory best practices. The workshop was arranged by the Institutional Biosafety Committee and Ethics Review Committee in collaboration with the Institute of Microbiology.
The session aimed to promote safe laboratory practices, proper biological waste management, and awareness regarding responsible scientific conduct. Participants were given hands-on training on waste segregation and the correct use of personal protective equipment. Faculty members and technical staff from various disciplines attended the workshop and actively participated in the training activities.
The workshop concluded with a post-assessment session followed by certificate distribution by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor hancellor appreciated the efforts of the trainers for promoting a strong culture of biosafety at GCUF. He said adherence to biosafety and biosecurity standards was essential for maintaining a safe research environment and ensuring the well-being of students, faculty members, and staff.
