A Dignified Flag-Hoisting Ceremony at Government College University Faisalabad on Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day

On August 14, 2026, Government College University Faisalabad celebrated Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day with great national enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. Under the shade of the national green and white flag, the atmosphere echoed with resounding slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad.” A dignified flag-hoisting and Guard of Honour ceremony was organized to mark the occasion, during which Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam hoisted the national flag. The national anthem was sung with pride, while a smartly turned-out contingent of guards presented the Guard of Honour. Children from the University Model School captivated the audience with passionate speeches, while members of the Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Musical Society enthralled the gathering with patriotic songs.
A large number of university Deans, Directors, the Registrar, faculty members, administrative staff, students, and young children attended the Independence Day ceremony. Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam said that this homeland was achieved through the tireless efforts and great sacrifices of our forefathers. He said it is a matter of great pride for us to be associated with the noble profession of education and to serve our beloved country by spreading the light of knowledge. He further stated that Independence Day is not only a reminder of our freedom but also a day to renew our resolve to remain united and work together to make our beloved Pakistan a land of progress, prosperity, and peace.
