The Business Incubation Center (BIC) at Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) organized an informative briefing session for faculty members from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology to introduce BIC’s mission, facilities, and support mechanisms for startup development.
Faculty members from the Departments of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Architecture participated in the session. The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rauf Bhatti, was also part of the delegation, reflecting the university’s strong commitment toward innovation and entrepreneurship.
During the first half of the session, participants were introduced to the overall structure and operational framework of BIC. Engr. Waqar Aziz and Dr. Rizwan Shabbir highlighted the available incubation resources, mentoring opportunities, and infrastructural facilities designed to nurture innovative ideas into viable businesses.
The second half of the session focused on engineering-based startups, funding opportunities, and practical guidance on company registration processes with regulatory bodies such as FBR and SECP. Faculty members were encouraged to explore commercialization pathways and leverage BIC support to translate research and engineering solutions into market-ready products.
In his concluding remarks, Manager BIC, Prof. Dr. Mohsin Bashir, emphasized the importance of developing innovative and technology-driven solutions through incubation. He assured full facilitation and institutional support for technology startups and encouraged faculty members to utilize BIC as a platform for experimentation, validation, and successful market entry. He also expressed gratitude to all participants for their active engagement.
