A grand 12th Convocation was held at Government College University Faisalabad

The dignified ceremony of the 12th Convocation of Government College University Faisalabad was held at the New Campus. On the special instructions of the Governor of Punjab, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam presided over the convocation proceedings and carried the session forward. A large number of university deans, directors, principal officers, faculty members, distinguished guests, and students were present on the occasion.

During the ceremony, more than 100,000 students from various sessions of PhD, MPhil, Master’s, Associate Degree, MBA, and BS (Honors) programs were awarded degrees. Students who demonstrated outstanding academic performance this year were acknowledged with great appreciation, including 335 gold medals, 333 silver medals, and 326 bronze medals.

Similarly, 250 PhD scholars, accompanied by their supervisors, came on stage to receive their degrees from Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam — a segment that remained the most prominent and dignified part of the ceremony.

While addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam said that today is a day of joy and pride for students, parents, and teachers. He noted that Government College University Faisalabad has achieved remarkable progress in teaching, research, and institutional development over the past years.
He further shared that in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, GCU Faisalabad has been declared the top-ranked university in Punjab and the second-best in Pakistan. He emphasized that this honor is the result of the combined efforts of teachers and students, and the university’s innovation-driven, research-oriented environment.

The Vice Chancellor expressed hope that the graduating students would make the nation proud in the future through their research-driven mindset and professional abilities. He also commended the tireless efforts and guidance of the faculty members and their role in the academic development of the university.

Members of the Syndicate, vice chancellors of various universities, social and academic figures, industry representatives, and respected citizens also attended the convocation. The participants appreciated the excellent arrangements of the ceremony and congratulated Vice Chancellor Dr Rauf-i-Azam and his team.
