An awareness walk and seminar on aquaculture was organized at Government College University Faisalabad

“Promoting fish farming trends in the country and raising awareness among people about fisheries and aquaculture is the need of the hour, so that the public can understand the importance of fish, fishing, and aquaculture.” These views were expressed by the Vice Chancellor of Government College University Faisalabad, Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam, while addressing the participants of the awareness walk and seminar on aquaculture. He added that in today’s era, where climate change has severely damaged natural resources, it is essential to develop the capacity to cope with these challenges so that the aquaculture industry in the country can be strengthened.
The seminar was attended by Dean of Life Sciences Prof. Dr. Farhat Jabeen, Chairperson Department of Zoology Prof. Dr. Asma Ashraf, Prof. Dr. Salma Sultana, Principal Organizer Prof. Dr. Syed Makhdoom Hussain, Prof. Dr. Shafqat Hussain, Prof. Dr. Khalid Abbas (Chairperson Zoology, Agriculture University), Dr. Fayaz Rasool, along with faculty members of the Zoology Department, and male and female students.
Dean of Life Sciences, Dr. Farhat Jabeen, said that there is a need to advance the fisheries sector on scientific grounds. Chairperson Department of Zoology, Dr. Asma Ashraf, said that strong collaboration between educational institutions, industries, and fish farmers is essential for the development of the fisheries industry.
