GCUF, PIPS Hold Seminar on Strengthening Academic–Parliamentary Collaboration

The Department of International Relations, Government College University Faisalabad, in collaboration with the Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS), Islamabad, organised a seminar titled “Strengthening Academics & Parliamentary Collaboration” on Wednesday.

Mr. Muhammad Rashid Mafzool Zaka, Director General (Research) at PIPS, highlighted the constitutional significance of Parliament and comprehensively discussed its rules, procedures and evolving role in national governance. He lauded Vice Chancellor GCUF, Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, for promoting institutional linkages between academia and PIPS aimed at enhancing public awareness and democratic literacy.

Mr. Abdul Nabi Solangi, Deputy Director (Legislation), provided an insightful briefing on the legislative process in the National Assembly and Senate.

Earlier, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asim Mehmood, welcomed the guests and underscored the role of PIPS in strengthening democratic norms, research culture and civic engagement among youth.

Dr. Muhammad Azhar, Chairman, Department of Political Science, spoke about Parliament’s responsibility in addressing contemporary national challenges. Dr. Ghulam Mustafa, Chairman, Department of International Relations, highlighted the growing academic collaboration between GCUF and PIPS, which he said would help students gain a deeper understanding of Pakistan’s political system and constitutional framework.
