The Directorate of Sports, Government College University Faisalabad, organized the HEC 36th Intervarsity Handball Men’s Championship 2025–26 in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad at the university’s Sports Complex, New Campus. The event brought together top university teams from across Pakistan, highlighting athletic excellence, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

The closing ceremony was graced by Prof. Dr. Rauf-I-Azam, Vice Chancellor GCUF, as the Chief Guest. He distributed trophies and cash prizes among the winning teams and congratulated the players for their outstanding performances.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Rauf-I-Azam emphasized that sports play a vital role in the physical and moral development of students and that universities must continue to promote healthy competitive activities alongside academic pursuits.

At this occasion Prof. Dr. Nasir Amin, Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rauf Bhatti, Dean, Haji Muhammad Shafique, President, Pakistan Handball Federation and Shafqat Mahmood, Olympian, were also present at the ceremony.

The championship concluded with the following results
1st Position: University of Central Punjab, Lahore
2nd Position: Superior University, Lahore
3rd Position: University of the Punjab, Lahore

In his closing remarks, Dr. Saeed Javed, Director Sports GCUF, expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor, distinguished guests, and all participating teams for their support and enthusiasm. He acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the organizing committee, student volunteers, and HEC officials for making the championship a resounding success.
