Government College University Faisalabad hosted the Inter-University Basketball Championship (Men & Women) under the auspices of the Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP) Faisalabad Chapter. The competitions were held on the GCUF basketball court and featured dynamic participation from universities across the region, promoting healthy competition, teamwork, and youth engagement in sports.

In the men’s category, four universities took part: Government College University Faisalabad, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, University of Sargodha, and University of Faisalabad. Meanwhile, the women’s category witnessed enthusiastic participation from five universities, Government College University Faisalabad, Government College Women University Faisalabad, Government College Women University Sialkot, University of Sargodha, and University of Faisalabad

The opening ceremony was graced by Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, Vice Chancellor, GCU Faisalabad, as the Chief Guest. He was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Nasir Amin, Pro Vice Chancellor, and Dr. Saeed Javed, Director Sports, GCUF.

In his inaugural address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam commended APSUP Faisalabad Chapter and the organizing committee for providing a valuable platform to young athletes to demonstrate their potential and foster inter-university cooperation through sports. He emphasized that sports are essential for character-building, discipline, and leadership development among youth.
