The 35th National and 23rd International Chemistry Conference, under the theme “Role of Chemistry for Sustainable Development,” concluded successfully with its closing ceremony held at Iqbal Auditorium, University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF)

The 35th National and 23rd International Chemistry Conference, under the theme “Role of Chemistry for Sustainable Development,” concluded successfully with its closing ceremony held at Iqbal Auditorium, University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF). This three-day scientific event was organized by the Department of Chemistry, Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF), under the auspices of The Chemical Society of Pakistan (CSP), as a joint venture in collaboration with University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) and the Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF).

Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, Vice Chancellor of Government College University Faisalabad, graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest. He was received by Prof. Dr. Kaleem Khan Khosa (Dean and Conference Chair), Prof. Dr. Abdullah Ijaz Hussain (Principal Organizer), Prof. Dr. Shahzad Ali Shahid Chatha and Prof. Dr. Asim Mansha (Conference Secretaries) and the Chairpersons of the Departments of Chemistry from UAF, GCUF, and GCWUF along with faculty members.

During the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Asif Hanif, Co-organizer of the event, presented the conference report, highlighting that the event featured 6 plenary talks, 45 keynote lectures, 165 oral presentations, and 55 poster presentations. Two international speakers from Malaysia and Benin attended physically, while 13 international speakers delivered keynote lectures online.

Prof. Dr. Shahzad Ali Shahid Chatha appreciated the dedication and teamwork of the conveners and members of various committees, including the scientific, food, and hall management teams, for ensuring the smooth execution of the event. He appreciated the delegates from all over the Pakistan from Karachi to Khaybar for their scientific contribution in the form of Planary, Keynote, oral and poster presentations and fruitful discussion at this prestigious forum.

In his address, Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam congratulated the organizing team for successfully hosting a major international conference and acknowledged their role in fostering scientific collaboration. He advised students to enhance their learning beyond classrooms by engaging in interdisciplinary and innovative research. Souvenirs, shields, and certificates were distributed among the organizers and committee members in recognition of their contributions.

In addition, six students were awarded certificates and cash prizes for their outstanding poster presentations, encouraging young researchers to continue pursuing excellence in scientific inquiry. The conference concluded with a renewed commitment to promoting the role of chemistry in sustainable development and strengthening national and global scientific partnerships.
