Government College University Faisalabad, Meeting of the Advanced Studies and Research Board

Serious and result-oriented efforts should be made in the field of research, and research should be promoted effectively to find solutions to national issues. This was stated by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam while addressing the meeting of the Advanced Studies and Research Board.
The meeting of the Advanced Studies and Research Board of Government College University Faisalabad was held under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam at Iqbal Hall, Old Campus. All members of the Advanced Studies and Research Board and the Deans participated in the meeting. Director of Advanced Studies Prof. Dr. Matloob Ahmad briefed the participants about the agenda and key points of the meeting, while Registrar Ghulam Ghaus performed duties as secretary.
During the meeting, evaluation reports of various PhD students’ theses were presented, which were approved after detailed discussion. Significant measures were taken to resolve the long-standing issues of M.Phil and PhD students and to ensure the timely completion of their degrees.
Considering the flood situation in the province, the deadline for thesis submission has been extended by one month for the convenience of students.
According to the new schedule, M.Phil theses can now be submitted until September 29, 2025, and PhD theses until October 29, 2025.
On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam stated that meetings of the Advanced Studies and Research Board are being held every month without interruption, which helps improve coordination among departments and ensures that students’ issues are resolved on a priority basis. Students facing challenges in thesis and research matters are being fully supported so that the research culture in the country can be strengthened. He further added that significant steps are being taken to provide students with a better academic environment and to create employment opportunities for them in the future so that, after graduation, they can play a positive role in the country’s economy.
