Vice Chancellor of Government College University Faisalabad visits Hafizabad Sub-Campus

Interviews for Visiting Faculty for the New Academic Year, Inauguration of Computer Lab and Library, Appreciation of Campus Role
Vice Chancellor of Government College University Faisalabad, Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, visited the Hafizabad Campus of GCUF. On this occasion, he participated in the interviews for visiting faculty for the new academic year and reviewed various proposals to further improve the teaching process.
It is worth mentioning that GCUF Hafizabad Campus was established in 2019 and holds the distinction of being the first university in Hafizabad district. At present, four major departments Commerce, Business Administration, English, and Mathematics are successfully running BS programs. Since the establishment of the campus, local students have been able to pursue higher education in their own district rather than traveling to bigger cities. PhD and MPhil qualified faculty are providing quality education to students under their supervision.
The university administration has recently issued an advertisement for the recruitment of regular faculty in various departments, through which more experienced and qualified teachers will be inducted into the teaching process. This step will not only further improve the quality of education but also provide students with significant opportunities for research and academic activities.
In his address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam said that the establishment of a university in small and remote cities is a golden opportunity for the youth. Thanks to the Hafizabad Campus, parents no longer need to send their children to big cities, and students are now receiving higher education within their own city. He also hinted at discussions with the Punjab government and local leadership to make the campus more active and to plan future expansion.
He further added that the establishment of universities not only opens the doors of education but also creates employment opportunities for local people, which is of fundamental importance for regional development.
On this occasion, Campus Director Dr. Khurram Ashfaq gave the Vice Chancellor a detailed tour of various departments and facilities. The Vice Chancellor also inaugurated the newly constructed computer lab and library and planted a sapling to mark the launch of the tree plantation campaign.
