“Rang-e-Pakistan” — Paying tribute to the freedom movement and national culture through an art exhibition

“Rang-e-Pakistan” Exhibition Aims to Introduce the New Generation to the Ideology of Pakistan – Dr. Rauf Azam

On the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day, the Institute of Art and Design at Government College University Faisalabad organized a grand art exhibition titled Rang-e-Pakistan. The exhibition was arranged through the joint collaboration of GC University Lahore, GC University Faisalabad, and the Inter-University Consortium. Its purpose was to pay tribute to Pakistan’s culture, heritage, freedom movement, and the brave soldiers of the Pakistan Armed Forces.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Vice Chancellor of Government College University Faisalabad Prof. Dr. Rauf Azam, Vice Chancellor of Government College University Lahore Prof. Dr. Muhammad Umar Chaudhry, Coordinator of the Inter-University Consortium Muhammad Murtaza Noor, Vice Chancellor of Government College Women University Faisalabad Prof. Dr. Kanwal Amin, Vice Chancellor of Faisalabad Medical University Prof. Dr. Zafar Ali Chaudhry, Syndicate Member of GC University Faisalabad Ms. Farzana Musaddiq, representatives of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce, renowned social and intellectual figures of the city, Head of the Institute of Art and Design Ms. Tehmina Afzal, Head of Fine Arts at GC University Lahore Ms. Amna Anwar Khan, along with faculty members and students from both universities.

In the exhibition, faculty members from the art departments of both universities showcased their skills and creativity through paintings, drawings, and other artworks. Each art piece vividly reflected the different colors, passions, and ideologies of Pakistan.

the occasion, Prof. Dr. Rauf Azam stated that Rang-e-Pakistan is not just an art display but an expression of national spirit. It serves as a means to connect our young generation with the Pakistan Movement, the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and the philosophy of Allama Iqbal. Fine arts represent the collective identity and cultural heritage of the nation.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Umar Chaudhry called this exhibition a positive and encouraging activity, noting that such intellectual and cultural engagements between universities broaden the scope of education. He expressed gratitude to the Inter-University Consortium for turning this idea into reality.

Coordinator of the Inter-University Consortium, Muhammad Murtaza Noor, said that this exhibition is not just a showcase of art but also a practical platform for mutual understanding, interaction, and exchange of experiences between the two universities. It will help acquaint the younger generation with Pakistan’s identity, its struggle, and the challenges ahead.

art exhibition will be held at Government College University Faisalabad on 7th and 8th August, and at Government College University Lahore from 11th to 14th August.
