Government College University Faisalabad has always been a torchbearer of academic excellence, cultural heritage, and national values. Celebrating national days and festivals with zeal, dignity, and unity is an integral part of the university’s tradition. In continuation of this legacy, grand celebrations are being organized on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day, August 14, 2025
Both campuses of the university have been beautifully adorned with green and white flags, decorative lights, and vibrant illuminations, with the green crescent-and-star flag waving proudly. These sights further ignite feelings of love and pride for the homeland among students, faculty, and staff.
Following the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab, Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the university administration has made special preparations to mark Independence Day with full patriotic spirit. Students from not only the main campus but also affiliated colleges will actively participate in the national celebrations.
The Independence Day events will include the national anthem, flag hoisting, guards of honor, patriotic songs, speeches, and special prayer ceremonies. Collective prayers will be offered for the progress, stability, and security of Pakistan. Special tributes will be paid to the martyrs of the freedom movement and the valiant soldiers of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Rauf-i-Azam stated that Government College University Faisalabad is not only a hub of education and research but also a leading institution in nurturing national awareness and patriotism among the youth. Independence Day reminds us of the value of our freedom, the sacrifices made for it, and renews our commitment to the future.
