Teaching is a noble and alive profession. A teacher plays a pivotal role in the teaching-learning process. He is a shaper and has a bounded duty to shape the personality of an individual in order to meet the future challenges and demands of the nation.
A teacher has always been a dynamic source of changing the fortune of a nation. He can inculcate good habits and healthy attitudes among the students through his personal and professional traits viz, honesty, hard-work, friendliness and commitment. Moreover, teacher should have wisdom, knowledge, insight and dedication. A good teacher should have command over his subject and be able to use a variety of techniques and strategies when situation demands.
I personally feel that our system of education can face a severe set back due to untrained teachers in various disciplines. Department of Education, GC University, Faisalabad is fully conscious of its responsibilities to train and educate the Community and for this reason the department is going to launch M. Phil program this year, apart from the existing B. Ed (Hons) Elementary and MA Education programs.
The vision of the department is to provide quality education to prepare reflective educators who possess theoretical knowledge as well as practical mastery of pedagogical techniques and who can face future challenges in the education sector with confidence. The department intends to develop in its graduates a critical understanding of the core areas of education
Our mission is to provide flexible, multi-method learning opportunities with variety of approaches including lectures, tutorial group discussions, seminars, presentations, research work, teaching practice, field work etc.
The Department of Education was established in 2003 with an idea of providing quality education to the individuals interested in adopting teaching as a profession. Currently the department is offering training to 200 students at graduate and post graduate levels. The department has been evolving and flourishing according to the social and technological changes in the society in general, and the educational environment in particular. The department aims to provide quality education to prepare reflective educators who can meet future challenges in the education sector. The department intends to develop in its graduates a critical understanding of the core issues of education. So that after completing the programs, the graduates can serve in different areas of systematic instruction.
