One day symposium on “Characterization of Biologically Potent Isolates”was held at Student Teacher Centre (STC) New Campus, Government College University Faisalabad arranged by Department of Applied Chemistry. The event was on 16-08-2017. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, Director HEJ, University of Karachi, Prof. Dr. ShaziaAnjum, Director CIDS, Islamia University Bahawalpur, Pakistan, Dr. Tahsin Gulzar, Chairperson, Department of Applied Chemistry and other distinguished guests joined the event. Dr. Tahsin Gulzar warmly welcomed the distinguished guests, respectable faculty members and students. She highlighted the importance of symposium. Dr. Tahsin Gulzar presented a note of thanks to the speakers and participants. Vice Chancellor in his keynote address highlighted the importance of symposium and said that such type of symposium should be arranged on regular basis, because it provides chance to students and researchers to get benefit from the experience of the scientists. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary gave a plenary lecture on Characterization of Biologically Active Compounds by Using NMR Spectroscopy Techniques. Other notable speakers were, Dr. ShaziaAnjum (Director CIDS), and Dr. Muhammad Shahid from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, who explained the objectives of the symposium. A large number of teachers, researchers and students from universities and allied organizations attended the symposium.
