About Prof. Dr. Nasir Amin

Prof. Dr. Nasir Amin has taken up the charge of Dean faculty of physical sciences in 2017. In addition, chairman/convener of several important administrative forums of the university. After a long and prosperous academic and research career at the Department of Physics, University of Agriculture Faisalabad he joined government college university faisalabad as Professor of physics in 2012. Since then both the faculty and infrastructure of the Department of Physics have seen huge progress. With Prof. Dr. Nasir Amin as the Dean of the faculty of Physical Sciences, the faculty as well as students of this faculty are expected to benefit immensely from the conducive and enabling environment. Prof. Amin completed his PhD at the Quid-e-Azam University Islamabad and later joined the University of California as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow where he stayed till 2010. He has completed several research projects worth over Rs. 15 million including the prestigious Presidential Young innovator award. His research work on laser matter interaction has been among one of the pioneering works in Pakistan which has been published in highly reputed international impact factors journals of physics. He has won the Pakistan Council for Science and Technology’s Research Productivity Award several times, while the Pakistan Academy of Sciences has also honored him with the PAS Gold medal in 2010 in recognition of his outstanding research contributions.
