World Teachers Day at GCUF

Government College University Faisalabad on Friday arranged a function to mark the World Teachers Day at Seminar Hall.

The function was chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zakir Hussain whereas Agriculture University Dean Prof Dr Muhammad Ashfaq and GCUF Dean Dr Nureen Aziz Qureshi and  Dr Naeem Mohsin also addressed the gathering.

Registrar Muhammad Ayub, Dean Prof Dr Muhammad Shahbaz Arif, Director HR  Shiekh Muhammad Akram, Dr Iftikhar Bukhari,  Director (Student Affairs) Mazhar Hayat, Dr Farhat Abbas,  other faculty members and Students  were present

The vice chancellor said that the secret of the progress of any country lies in the quality education whereas the teachers play a key role in producing the quality students that are the guarantee of the bright future.

The Day celebrates the role of teachers play in providing quality education at all levels. This enables children and adults of all ages to learn to take part in and contribute to their local community and global society, he added.  Prof Dr Zakir Hussain said that he GCUF was recruiting the teaching staff on merit to ensure the standard of education at par with developed world. He advised teachers to impart quality education to students as they were held in high esteem in the society.

Prof Dr Muhammad Ashfaq said that a good teacher becomes friendly with the society and deal with the people with sincerity. He urged the teaching community to leave no stone unturned to come up to the expectations of the society and play their vital role in equipping the students with skills in this regard. Other speakers also highlighted the importance of intelligent and hardworking teachers and there role in the building of  the Nation.
