Seminar on Iqbal arranged by Department of History and Pakistan Studies

Speakers at a seminar called for seeking guidance from the ideas and vision of Dr Allama Mohammad Iqbal and spread it in order to steer the country out of challenges and to emerge as a developed nation.They were addressing a Seminar on Iqbal arranged by Department of History and Pakistan Studies, Government College University Faisalabad in which Allama Iqbal’s grandson Muneeb Iqbal was the chief guest.

The chief guest said inhabitants of Pakistan need to enlighten themself with Iqbal’s doctrine to emerge as an energetic and dynamic nation. Throwing light on the life of our national poet, he said that Iqbal’s life was revolving around the establishment of a state for the Muslim Ummah named Pakistan. It was his dream to get the Muslims out of the clutches of British Government to practices their lives according to the injections of Islam.

He also divulged that at the time of his demise, Allma Iqbal had no penny in his account and he (Iqbal) spent his whole life in a rental home.  He urged the youth to apply their energies to the quest for knowledge and development of Pakistan, which had been achieved after great sacrifices.

Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Prof Dr Pervez Azeem said that the Iqbal books had been translated into many languages and the GCUF PhD scholars were conducting researches on Iqbal.  He stressed the need to aware the young generation with the Iqbal’s thoughts and ideology of Pakistan.

The Department Chairman, Abul Qadir Mushtaq, urged the students to get benefit from the poetry and life of the national hero for proving their mettle across the globe. He advised them to read the poetry and follow his footprint to spend a respectable and progressive life.
