“The importance of bio-ethics is recognized at national and international level”, it was said by Prof. Dr. Zakir Hussain, Vice Chancellor G C University, Faisalabad, while addressing a seminar entitled “Bio-ethics”. He emphasized to observe the ethical values as progress in any sphere of life is not possible without it. The seminar was organized by Faculty of Science & Technology GCUF in collaboration with Directorate of Medical Sciences. Seminar was also addressed by Dean Science & Technology Dr. Naurin Aziz Quraishi, Dr. Riaz Hussain Dab, Director Medical Sciences and Ex-Principal Punjab Medical College Faisalabad, along with others. The Vice Chancellor also discussed deplorable medical facilities in Pakistan where bio-ethics are not observed in a true spirit. Dr. Zakir Hussain said that we should follow ethical values in every sphere of life to earn a good name in the comity of the nations. For which the best model is our Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him). Although all religions of the world focus on ethical values yet Islam declares high moral values and principles as a pre-requisite for the success of life and hereafter it. He further told that the concept of medical ethics started principally in 1960. Pakistan has made a progress in this regard now-a-days. As per an act approved by Punjab Govt.; to register an FIR against doctors has become conditional with the report of a medical board. The seminar was attended by different organizational heads, heads of departments’ and a big number of students.
