Preparations for Punjab Youth Festival

Preparations are in full swings and necessary arrangements have been finalized to open four-day Punjab Youth Festival at the Government College University Faisalabad commencing from October 8 to October 11 being arranged on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.

Terming the Punjab Chief Minister initiative as a hallmark step to promoting the skills of the students, GCUF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zakir Hussain has directed the high-ranked officials of the varsity to make the foolproof arrangements by constituting various committees to run the Festival smoothly.

A meeting of advisory committee on Thursday was convened by Dean Faculty of Management and Administrative Science Prof Dr Muhammad Shahbaz Arif. The Dean told that these colorful events will help the students give voice to their mind and exhibit their inner skills that will polish their capabilities to tackle the different affairs of practical life.

According to details, the functions of Cultural Projects, Mili Nagma competition, Dress Show, Handicraft, Paintings, will be opened at 9:30 am ( October 8)  at the GCUF whereas Short Film will be held at 9:30 am (October 9) and Technical Projects will be opened at 9:30 (October 11) . Besides it, business entrepreneurship, debate, drama, photography Mushaira and Qirat  are included in the Youth Festival.

Dean Science and Technology Dr Naureen Aziz Qureshi, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Dr Pervaiz Azeem,  Registrar Muhammad Ayub,   Chairperson Dr Nighat Bhatti, In-charge  Mass Communication SM Anwar, Principal Dr Nadeem Asif, Director Dr Haq Nawaz, Chairperson Dr Muhammad Zubair, Dr Umair Arshad Bajwa, Chairperson Dr Sofia Anwar,  Director HR Muhammad Akram, Director Students Affairs (focal person of the festival) Mazhar Hayat, Director Sports Rafiq Wahla, DDSA Abdul Qadir Mushtaq, DDSA Zeeshan Ahmad Khan,  In-charge  Fashion and Design  Tehmina  Afzal and other Chairpersons and Heads of Department were also present at the meeting.
