The Department of Applied Chemistry & Biochemistry successfully organized a Hands on Training and Workshop on “New Trends in Optimization Based Approaches for Purification and Biological Analyses of Isolates to Process Synthesis of Lead Molecules”. It was attended by a large gathering of distinguished dignitaries, faculty members, researchers and students of different universities / institutes. The Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali (TI) was the Chief Guest of the event. The Guest of honour was the Honourable Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zuber convened the workshop and also shared his valuable views and insights. Moreover, Dr. Tahsin Gulzar, Principal Organizer, explained the purpose and need of the workshop. The most distinguished guests and resource persons included Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum (Director of Cholistan Institute of Desert Studies), Dr. Mazhar Iqbal (Principal Scientist, NIBGE), Dr. Muhammad Khalid (Sao Paulo University Brazil), Dr. Muhammad Shahid (Associate Professor, UAF), Dr. Nusrat Hussain (H.E.J, Karachi University) and others.
The resource persons shed light and shared the current state of progress and research with particular focus on areas like isolation, purification, synthesis, biological analysis, spectroscopic techniques with hands on training of students related to the theme of event.
