The Department of Microbiology, Govt. College University Faisalabad organized a National One Day Seminar on Crimean Congo Haemorrhagic Fever (CCHF)in Iqbal Hall, Old Campus on September 07, 2016 Dr. Muhammad Hidayat Rasool, Chairman Microbiology, GCUF and Dr. Muhammad Sohail Sajid, Department of Parasitology, University of Agriculture were the resource persons.
Seminar was started with the recitation of Holy Quran &Naat-e-Rasool Maqbool (SAW). Dr. Muhammad Hidayat Rasool, in his presentation gave comprehensive overviews of CCHF including introduction history, epidemiology, agent, host range, signs & symptoms, diagnosis and treatment. He emphasized on the precautionary measures and accurate/early diagnosis of this zoonotic disease later on Dr. Sohail Sajid talked about the role of tick in the transmission of CCHF along with its prevention & control. He briefed the audience about precautionary measures to be adopted before handling animals during the process of sacrifice / slaughtering. Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zuber, Dean Faculty of Science &Technology in his address appreciated the efforts of the Department of Microbiology for organizing such an impartment and timely seminar on this zoonotic problem particularly in context of up-coming
Eid-ul-Azha. A large number of teaching and administrative staff of Government College University, Faisalabad participated in the seminar and asked many useful questions during Question Answer Session.
At the ends shields/certificates were distributed and tea was served to all the participants.
