Microsoft Student Partner GCUF got 1st Position in Punjab Youth Festival Hackathon

This is a matter of great honor for GCUF that a Team of MSP (Microsoft student partner GCUF) that consists of students of College of Computer Science and Information studies, Got 1st position in National level event, Microsoft Hackathon that was organized by the collaboration of MIC Lahore (Microsoft innovation Center) under the Punjab Youth Festival 2014.

Team of GCUF, “Microsoft GCUP” Participated in the category of maximum number of application development managed to set new record by developing more than  21,000  apps.  Whereas other competitors were somewhere near 5000 apps. Students from GCUF gave very tough time to all of the teams including COMSATS, NUST, LUMS, LCWU, UET  and many others. Yet our students team “Microsoft GCUF managed to inspire them all. Microsoft Lahore team, including Mr. Tahir Masood who is DPE Pakistan, Mr.Shahid Aziz (MIC Lahore), Usman ur Rehman (MIC Lahore) and Zaigum Ikram ,specially appreciated Microsoft-GCUF team for their warm and active participation in Hackathon and invited them to guide other young students in Hackathon.

These bright students of GCUF, under supervision of Dr. Ramzan Talib (Principal College of Computer Science & Information Studies) Rabia Saleem (Coordinator of IT, Lecturer) Asma Sajid (Lecturer, Microsoft Faculty Connection at GCUF) , and in leadership of senior student , Hafiz Faraz Mukhtar (Senior MSP-GCUF, Microsoft Certified Professional, MIC-Internee) have worked very hard and have made GCUF as well as their Faisalabad city proud. The team of nine people included: Hafiz Faraz Mukhtar, Syed Muhammad Abdullah, Ahmad-ul-Hussain, Hafiz Usman aftab, Syeda Saira, Tehniyat Farooq, Rida Hamid, Fatima Bint-e-Afzal and Anum Nawaz.

Next step of these students is to make their name on International level by participating in Microsoft Imagine Cup in 2015. These kind of participation help to increase the exposure of students and raise the confidence level of students.
