69th Independence Day was celebrated in Government College University Faisalabad with traditional enthusiasm. The main ceremony was held in the bright morning of 14th August 2015 in which Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali (TI) was the chief guest. The Vice Chancellor paid tribute to martyrs of Tehreek-e-Pakistan and also appreciated the efforts of civil institutes and armed forces for their un-tired efforts for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan. He also admires the martyrs of war against terrorism and said that their sacrifices will not be wasted.
The Vice Chancellor congratulated all the teaching and non-teaching staff of the University on the Independence Day and urged that we should serve our country with full devotion and zeal. He said that we should remember the Independence Day as renewed commitment that we will bring brighter and stronger Pakistan to our new generation.
The University was decorated with electric light in the night and prayers were offered for the prosperity of Pakistan in the morning. Flag hosting was the main event in which large number of students and staff participated. Security guards presented the March past and guard of honor on this occasion.
Historical pictures exhibition was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor which was organized by the Department of History and Pakistan Studies.
Scholarships disbursement ceremony was held under Prime Minister’s Tuition Fee Reimbursement Scheme. Cheques were distributed among the qualified students.
In the end, GCUF musical society presented national songs.
