About Dr. Naureen Aziz Qureshi
Prof. Dr. Naureen Aziz Qureshi (FLS) a PhD in Oceanography and Coastal Sciences from Louisiona State University – USA, a fellow of Linnean Society and Zoology Society of London, a prolific researcher and academician, winner of National Science Award 2003, Dr. Naseema Trimzi Gold Medalist, is a well-known figure in the area of Wildlife and Fisheries. She enjoys highly self-motivated career in the field of Fisheries. Before joining GC University Faisalabad, she was working as Dean Faculty of Fisheries and Wildlife at University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore. She has remained associated with different research journals and organizations. With profound experience in project management at national and International level, her area of interest is Fisheries and acqua culture on which she has produced many noteworthy research articles. She has supervised many PhD and M.Phil theses at University of Karachi, UVAS and is continuing the same here at GCUF.
Dean’s Message
Confucius believed the highest state of human enlightenment is to “Change as time does. Do as time demands.” Indeed, there is no better time than now. The GCUF’s past successes and rich tradition lay an excellent foundation enabling us to move forward and to embrace change. It is my hope that you will join me as we continue to push new technologies to strengthen ties in the community and around the world.
The field of Science and Technology is changing at a rapidly accelerating pace. One downside to this is that information becomes outdated quickly putting an even greater importance on maintaining research excellence as a core mission of our Faculty. Our academic programs benefit greatly from our research efforts by providing our students a window into the changing face of modern Science and Technology. Supporting our outstanding faculty and maintaining research excellence is paramount as we move into our future years and beyond.
The mission of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology is to provide rigorous training in basic science as well as latest technology-based research that will prepare our students for leadership roles in the scientific challenge that will dominate the 21st century. The GCUF’s educational approach combines discipline-based specialization with a broad perspective for mastering new knowledge in a period of rapid change. Innovative programs and courses; full access to GCUF’s institutional strengths in research, education, and latest technologies; and the highest-caliber faculty all serve to attract an exceptional student population. The GCUF’s programs foster students’ development into imaginative, independent basic scientists and research-oriented scientists, who are prepared to lead the interdisciplinary efforts that will be required for advancing Science and Technology in the current era.
