Vision of Islamic studies department is to high light religion of Islam as complete code of life and its program to solve the contemporary issues. Main object of this department is to introduce Islam as religion of peace, tolerance and mutual harmony.

Mission

The department of Islamic studies is striving with missionary sprit for the upbringing of the student’s according to the parameters of Islamic education.

Focus of the Islamic studies department is on characterization of students in the light of Quran & Sunnah, so that they may be able to understand actual insight of religion and contemporary world wide issues in the right perspective as well.

Introduction

Govt College University Faisalabad started its glorious journey more than one hundred years ago. It was a land mark & turning point in its history, while the subject of Islamic studies had been introduced earlier in 1955-56. With the passage of time, it gained much more reputation regarding academic & Co-curricular achievements. This distinguished institution has been playing an important role in the uplift of education in multi dimensional way.

The department of Islamic studies was established in this institution in 1982, at post graduation level. By the grace of Allaha Almighty in 2002 Govt College Faislabad was upgraded to the rank of university. Now in GC University Faisalabad Islamic studies department has been playing a pivotal role to enlighten the students with the orientation of Islamic studies keeping the real Islamic spirit in view. It has produced exemplary caliber and shown outstanding results, in Punjab University (as an affiliated college before the status of university) and afterwards as well, at different levels.
